Daniel Icenhour

5th Year Graduate Student


After five years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic, Daniel earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of South Florida. As an undergraduate researcher in Bill Baker’s lab, he worked on isolating natural products from algae. He was also an AMGEN Scholar in Jon Clardy’s lab at Harvard and a recipient of the NSF-GRFP fellowship. Currently, his research focuses on C25 sesterterpenes using a terpene overproduction system. Outside the lab, he enjoys painting and spending time with his two dogs, Groot and Kylo.
